The Stentor Profundo double bass (pictured above) is available for hire. It's often to be found gracing the stage at Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club, London, where it is used by visiting artists who don't wish to travel with a bass. The bass is set-up with an adjustable bridge and David Gage pick-up. It is easy to play (40'' string length) and fiddle with to get a string height to suit the individual player.

I know by experience what a challenge it is having to play different basses all the time when touring and how miserable the experience can be when the instrument you are given is of poor quality, particularly difficult to play or just very badly set-up or maintained. This bass works fine and I've had no complaints so far from the top-name bassplayers who have played it.
